Do you think a journey without a goal can be meaningful?
I believe a journey is meaningless without a goal mainly because it’s hard to start one without an incentive. However, even if you do take those necessary first steps to venture down an unknown path, after experiencing difficulties, many people abandon what they started because they begin to wonder why they started in the first place. Unconsciously, people convince themselves that there isn’t a purpose, and all their efforts go to waste. On the contrary, I do believe that a person with the right mindset can embark on a journey without a goal and find new revelations. Every living person strives to find their purpose and role in the world. Who they are and what they want to be. Even though a person might not know what they desire, with a passionate, ambitious, and self-forgiving mindset, I have no doubt that their journey will be filled with new discoveries. I really liked this question, thank you for asking!
Makes sense. I misinterpreted the second part of this quote as “the journey is meaningless if the goal isn’t achieved”. I’ve found that this is a mindset that many have in our merit based society, but our personal growth from the journey when we pursue our goals is something we often miss. I agree that starting a journey without a goal would be hard because we would have no direction. Thank you your reply!
